Meet Mark Jacobs with our team in Kansas City, Missouri! Mark recently celebrated his five year anniversary with Vander Haag’s, starting with us in November of 2014. He currently serves as a Service Assistant, working the 2nd shift at the KC store. Mark initially started in Warehouse/Inventory and then moved into Shipping and Receiving as well as the Parts Sales before settling into his role as Service Assistant.
Mark says he really enjoys the second shift hours, starting most of his days at 12:30 PM and then working until 11:00 PM or later to make sure everything gets done. “I am not a morning person, so second shift is perfect for me!” Most of Mark’s day is spent communicating with customers, service technicians, and updating work orders. At 6:00 P.M., he takes over parts calls as well. Mark admitted that there’s never a lack of something to do.
Having been with VHI for over 5 years now and working in multiple departments has allowed Mark to meet a lot of the team members in Kansas City and throughout other VHI locations as well. “I do feel like I’ve made some great friendships here.” He especially enjoys the accomplishment of helping to keep the second shift as productive as possible in Kansas City.
Looking back on his experience, Mark has some advice: “Keep an open mind and be able to accept constructive criticism without taking it personally. Learn as much as you can.”
Congratulations on your five years with Vander Haag’s, Mark! We’re thankful to have you as a part of our team!
