Vander Haag’s is currently accepting applications for the General Manager position at our store location in Columbus, OH. This is an overtime exempt (salaried) position with variable hours. (General hours will mirror business operation hours, but variations in the work schedule may be necessary).

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation and leadership at the Columbus location. This position will also represent the company at various functions/events outside of the company (customers, vendors, employees, and other stakeholders).

General responsibilities:

• Represent and promote the company values to both internal team members and external customers. Is very involved in local organizations pertaining to the business.

• Recruit, train, and develop team members at the Columbus location.
• Works closely with team members to set expectations and manage employee performance.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and orderly facility.
• Confer with upper management to review and establish goals, strategies, and outcomes for the Columbus location.
• Oversee all accounting functions for the location – including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cost approval/cost management.
• Work with team members to problem solve and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred (two year or four year).
• 3 – 5 years of prior management/leadership experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with a wide range of internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent leadership and relationship building skills.
